The Sword of Cartimandua Series

This Roman series is set in the early days of the Roman invasion of Britannia. It follows the lives of a turma of cavalry and the redoubtable Queen Cartimandua of the Brigantes. The mythical sword of the Brigante is passed down to one of the troopers and it becomes a symbol of the new people who grew out of the Roman Invasion in the 1st Century AD. The series chronicles the conquest of Wales and Scotland as well as the building of Hadrian’s Wall. The lives of the auxiliary troopers if at the heart of these stories.
