The Norman Genesis Series

The series begins with a character who served the Dragonheart. He joins a band of warriors who settle in what is now Normandy and his heirs become the famous Göngu-Hrólfr, who became Duke Rollo of Normandy. The series chronicles the growth of the band of Norsemen who would eventually rule England, Sicily, half of Italy and France as well as challenging the mighty Byzantine Empire. It shows the transition from a loose band of sailors, traders and pirates into a military machine that was feared and admired in equal measure by the rulers of Europe.
