The Danelaw Saga Series

This is the story of the rise of King Cnut and is told through the eyes of a warrior who served him, one of his hearthweru, or bodyguards. It is a story of intrigue and murder with rivals trying to stop the young prince’s rise to power and the treacherous world of Saxon politics in the 9th Century. The wider canvas of Danish and English politics is enriched by the story of the young warrior who follows King Cnut and through him we see the life of a Danish man with a family and with obligations beyond his king.
