Major Matthews is called upon once more to be Sir Arthur Wellesley’s aide in the forthcoming Iberian Campaign. Talavera is set against the backdrop of the campaign to free Portugal and Spain from Bonaparte’s grip. The storming of the Porto and the epic battle of Talavera are prominent but there is also a back story involving Robbie and an assassin sent by Bonaparte’s secret police.
