With the civil war seeming to be never ending the Warlord and Duke Henry decide on a bold strategy which pits the men of the north against the might of Stephen and his forces. At the same time a conspiracy of Kings and Counts attempt to wrest the young Duke’s lands from him. Betrayed by his own family Henry becomes the king who in later life will conquer Wales and Ireland. We see the cub grow into a lion and hear him roar.
Although the book is set in 1154, the same year that the Anarchy ended, I still have more books to write. I think it is the OCD part of me. Henry, Stephen and Eleanor are part of history but the characters I have created, Warlord, William, Dick and Wulfric (to mention but a few) live on and I am interested in seeing what happens next. I have planned the next book in the series, Crusader, and that goes back to 1148 when William goes to the Holy Land. In my mind, I have more books envisaged. For those to whom this is the last bus stop, thank you and I hope you have enjoyed the journey. For the ones who want to stay on then welcome! I am not certain where it will, ultimately, take us.
