Lieutenant Harsker and his elite Commandos are given no respite as they are sent behind enemy lines to help the Canadians on the ill fated attack at Dieppe. After escaping, by the skin of their teeth, they are sent to North Africa to destroy valuable equipment which has fallen into the enemy’s hands. A fast moving novel the actions moves from Europe to Africa and from sea to land.
This is a special book for me as my dad was on the Dieppe raid. He was a sailor and served with Number 4 Commando. He took the Canadians in. He told me a great deal about the raid. I hope he approves of the way I portrayed him. Later in the story the hero, Tom, goes with his team to North Africa. This book takes us to the end of 1942. The next book in the series will begin in the Mediterranean.
